From Observation to Ontology

<article><p>The ontology did not begin as an ontology. It began as frustration.</p><p>For thirty years I watched the same patterns repeat. An estate plan that failed to account for the interaction between community property and a trust's distribution provisions. A business succession plan that ignored the cascade effect of a key-person clause.</p><p>The errors were not random. They fell into categories. And the categories mapped to structural properties of the rules themselves — not to the competence of the lawyers involved.</p><p>This observation was the seed. If errors are structural, then prevention must be structural.</p><blockquote>The profession does not need better lawyers. It needs better infrastructure.</blockquote></article>
