Independent Transportation Network
Independent Transportation Network America (ITNA) is a non-profit organization that provides community-based transportation services for seniors who no longer drive themselves. The program seeks to promote safety and mobility for today’s seniors and to connect older people with their community.
Unfortunately, communities all over the U.S. struggle to provide adequate transportation services for seniors. Difficulties include: how to provide needed door-to-door service, how to arrange rides, and how to pay for it all.
ITN America provides support for community transportation programs all over the country. This support includes business plans, tools, budget models, and consulting that help each community to raise needed funds and resources and to find volunteer drivers. ITNA also has a software system that plans and tracks rides to promote efficiency, calculates finances and billing, manages volunteer accounts, and manages community outreach.
ITNA accepts donations to support senior transportation services. All donations are fully tax-deductible. The program recently celebrated its 500,000th ride and has established itself as a valuable resource for elder members of society.
